Bogaraju Sharatchandra Varma is currently working as a Lecturer at Ulster University. Prior to this he was a Post Doctoral Research Fellow at Queens University and CASR-HKU. At CASR-HKU he worked on FPGA based high speed data acquisition and processing systems for  optical cytometry to capture single cell images. He mainly works on FPGA based hardware accelerators. He graduated with a PhD degree from Indian Institute of Technology Delhi (IIT) and Masters degree in VLSI-CAD from Manipal University. He has also worked as an Asst. Professor at  National Institute of Technology Goa and as a visiting faculty at Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) Thiruvananthapuram India.
